1100/1150 RT Testimonials |
It's obvious that you don't need another rider testimonial for your motorcycle windshields, but I'm going to write one anyway! My former bike (BMW R1100RT) came with a Cee Bailey's #2 windshield. I guess you could say I was spoiled, because from day one I thought that's how an RT rode! After about a year I swapped with a friend and rode behind a standard RT windshield.... whoa!!! I immediately knew why I got so many questions about MY windshield! Well, I now have an R1150RT (silver) that came with the stock shield, and as much as I love (!) my BMW, I was rudely reminded of how lacking the stock screen was. I emailed your sales email address because I was considering a light gray screen but had some questions. I received the NICEST email back from Cee Baileys. He answered my questions about the pigment in the material and what I could expect from a tinted screen versus a clear screen as far as durability and scratch resistance. Long testimonial a little longer, I received my #2, +2.5" light gray windshield today and all I can say is WOW!!! They were right, the light gray is SHARP, and the quality (as usual) is spot-on. It seems so infrequent that you can recommend a company whole-heartedly based on the usefulness of their product, their prices, and their customer service, but you guys are that company. Thanks and keep it up!!!

Hello again,
Yesterday, 30 October I received my screen. I was surprised by the swift delivery and even more by the looks of it.
I immediately mounted the screen on my BMW, but was not able to testdrive it last night. This morning I went to work and used my cellphone to listen to the radio, which was not possible with the stock shield. I could hear everything even on the motorway. This was what I hoped for.
Thank you very much for all your efforts and I must say the great testimonials on your site are justified as far as I am concerned.
Best regards from a very happy customer,

Hello again,
This week I received the windshield I ordered, for a BMW R1150 RT.
I had a little problem to make over the money from the Netherlands the US, but with a lot of help from Chris Sandoval (CeeBaileys) it worked out.
Thanks for the great help and services, after I paid the shield was
in about 7 days delivered.
The shield is great looking and fits perfectly
Thanks again,
Joost Boer

You guys rock!
I recently bought a #2 wind screen for my BMW RT. I couldn’t wait to get it and put it on. When it arrived, I immediately realized that it was the wrong choice for me due to the blurry section where the screen was molded. I contacted your company (Roy) and he talked it thru with me as if I was the most important customer at the time. We both agreed that this shield would not work for me, but a #1 would be a better choice for my application, and use.
Roy gladly connected me with a sales rep to return the #2, and order the new #1. This is where it gets better. I ordered the new one on a Monday night. That Friday the new #1 (that had to be made 1st) was sitting on my doorstep. I live in the northeast, so this was quite an accomplishment on Cee Bailey’s part.
This is what I call taking care of the customer. The new shield is on, and I am very happy with it.
I am a very active member of multiple riding clubs, and I will be sure to pass along this story to all that will listen.
Keep up the solid customer service!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The #3 screen we received earlier this month, for our BMW 1150RT, does just what we were hoping it would. My husband and I ride two up and now thanks to this wonderful windshield we can speak to one another (without any electronic gizmos) without shouting...it's been GREAT! This is going to make our cross country trip most enjoyable.
Thanks again for your service and expertise!

| Dear Potential
Cee Baileys Customer,
Im
writing this letter because when I find someone/a company
that provides an excellent product, excellent service, and
at an excellent price, I dont know about you, but I
feel like I just want to go out of my way to tell my friends
and others so they can reap these same benefits!
I found
out about Cee Baileys when I was given a gift certificate
for a windshield of my choice as part of the incentive package
to buy my 2004 BMW R1150RT. Since I had never heard of them
before, I went to their webpage and after looking over their
numerous products, did just what you are doing, read some
of the testimonials. Folks seemed so pleased, and described
the company owner Steve as being such a friendly guy who rides
an R1150RT, that I decided to give him a call
telling
the receptionist that I was just a potential customer
out of the blue, and since Steve wasnt
in the office, she PAGED HIM from the factory floor! We had
a GREAT conversation, and I could see why folks had been so
positive in their testimonials.
Several
weeks later, I completed the purchase of my bike, and was
put in touch with Ken, who helped me select what I believe
is the PERFECT windshield! Since I had never owned a bike
with a windshield before, let alone one which is fully electrically
adjustable, I had no idea what I needed
other than
something bigger than the stock one
because Im
6 3 tall (w/33 inseam). Ken very tactfully
guided me to select a Euro Cut, Design #2 which is +4.5
in height. My bike is the BMW darker gray, and I wasnt
sure what color windshield to get, so I was leaning towards
selecting clear. Now recall that Ken didnt know me from
Adam, but he kind of coughed and stalled just enough for me
to get the hint that he didnt think clear was the right
choice. When I finally forced him to suggest a color, he told
me he thought the light gray would look good and not be too
dark for night riding. I then asked him about the headlight
protectors, and he explained that their new 3 piece design
with yellow side covers greatly adds to bike visibility, so
I ordered one of those and also some of their fine specialized
cleaner and wipes. We concluded the call by Ken saying that
my windshield would be custom made, and that it might take
a week plus shipping.
I believe
it was only 4 days later that upon coming home from work,
I found (in my opinion) the most beautiful piece of fabricated
Plexiglas I had ever seen! It is almost perfectly clear even
through the kick-up portion near the top. The
edges are precisely machined with a gentle radius and uniform
slight roughness. (Someday I plan on visiting their factory
so I can see how they do such beautiful work). The headlight
protector was similarly made with nice smooth edges, and everything
fit great on my bike.
Recently
while on a weekend get-away trip with my wife riding through
the California foothills, we got caught in a summer thunderstorm.
I just raised the windshield to the full-up position, slowed
a bit due to the wet roads, and wasnt bothered hardly
at all by the rain which was mostly deflected over my helmet.
I REALLY like the Euro cut, with the slight dip near the center,
which allows me to look over easily while still reaping the
benefit of wind deflection near my shoulders.
Well,
Ive gone on enough to hopefully help direct you towards
purchasing Cee Baileys products, so will conclude by saying
that Id be HAPPY to chat with you on the phone or via
e-mail, so have included my contact info. Send me an e-mail
and Ill send you a couple of pictures of my bike!
Sincerely,
Mark Gilbert |

| Hey guys!!!
Just wanted
to tlet you knwo that i had a chance to riide to work today
with my new Euro shield installed on my 2003 R1150RT. I have
had only one
complaint with my T..the wind noise from the stock shield.
I am truly
amazed with your windshield!! Ridig today it was about 22
degrees out and i
only hd to raise the shield up about 1/3 of the way to offer
great face
protection...and I do not get that annoying wind turbulence
I used to get
with the stock shield. I have tried tthe optional BMW shield
as well as the
Aeroflow windshiled but did not like the looks or the quality.
This will
definately help in selling your products here.....I can show
them my bike
and give a great testimonial! Anyway just want you to knwo
that you havea
great product and a dealer/customer that is very very please!

Pay Less
and Get More !
When was the last time that concept worked for you?
I own
a 2002 1150 RT with the stock shield and being a little larger
than
standard,
I needed to change the profile of my shield.
I talked to the dealer, with little to no real help, so I
turned to the
Internet.
Everyone had one for around $220 and they all looked about
the same.
I stumbled across the site for Cee Baileys and thought, "they
are cheaper
!".
"What is wrong with them"? "They have to be
inferior somehow......" Right.
I could
not have been more wrong, The quality is excellent (better
than
stock) and the service top notch.
I called
and I was very impressed with the knowledge and your willingness
to help
"set me at ease" with making the right choice.
I got
the #1, 4" up and 1" out and it is great for both
me and the
passenger.
I love the green tint, it looks awesome on my silver 1150
RT. Airplane
engineers may be on to something.
Everyone wants to know where I got it and where they can get
one.
You guys
are going to have to hire some help....soon.
Keep up
the good work.

Bailey's BMW Windshield - Product Review
For the
past two years I have been considering replacing the stock
windshield on my 1996 R1100RT with an aftermarket product
that would improve the airflow around my head and shoulders
and hence my riding comfort. I had considered Aeroflow, Parabellum,
Secdem, and even other versions from BMW but had hesitated
to make the final decision. About a year ago I began to read
about a new entrant in the field of aftermarket windshields,
Cee Bailey's Aircraft Plastics from Montebello, CA. The company
has been manufacturing aircraft windshields for 45 years,
but only recently began making them for motorcycles. This
resulted from the company owner's decision that he could improve
on what has been available in the market. As I began to read
other riders' reactions to these windshields, there was almost
unanimous agreement that Cee Bailey's was making the best
windshields available for BMW's. I had almost made my decision
but decided to call the company for advice before making my
purchase.
In early December, I called the company's toll-free number
and asked to speak to the owner, Steve Chlavin. I left a message
and was amazed when he returned my call about an hour later.
We talked for about 30 minutes, and he was more than happy
to answer all my questions and provide suggestions on which
windshield to buy. I settled on a #2 Euro-cut model, 2 inches
wider and 3.5 inches taller than stock that is tinted light
gray. The #2 includes a slight "flip" at the top
for improved airflow, and the Euro-cut is trimmed ½
inch lower in the center to provide a better line of sight
while still keeping wind away from your helmet and shoulders
(See photos). The shield is made of ¼ inch thick aircraft
quality acrylic as are all their shields. The price was $206.00
including the delivery charge. At the end of our conversation,
Steve asked that I call him back after I had a chance to try
the windshield to let him know my impressions and any comments
- talk about customer service. I placed my order, and the
windshield arrived three days later. My initial inspection
showed that it was well-made, optically clear, and free of
distortion. The true test, a road test, had to be postponed
three weeks because this was a Christmas present that was
duly wrapped and sat under the tree until Christmas morning.
Finally, this weekend I got to see if it performed as well
as it looked.
Installation took about 15 minutes, it fit perfectly. On the
highway it provided almost turbulence-free airflow even though
I barely raised it from the full down position. There was
also none of the back pressure that the stock windshield created
that made you feel as if you were being pushed forward. I
tried it at speeds from 30mph to 80mph, and it seemed to perform
better the faster I went. Something that I have to remember
for future reference. I intentionally closely followed a tractor
trailer on Route 1 to see how it would react in turbulent
air. Although the front of the bike moved slightly more than
usual, probably due to the increased size of the shield compared
to the stock one, the overall ride actually improved. This
was due to the absence of wind buffeting my shoulders and
head. The fact that my body didn't move greatly improved the
bike's overall stability. In the full up position I was looking
through the center of the shield so this should provide better
protection for any passenger. I have not tried it in the rain
or in gusty winds, but there seems to be no reason to think
that these situations won't also be improved. The extra 2
inches of width also kept almost all of the wind off of my
upper arms which made them much warmer. I'll do more testing
and let you know how it goes, but for now I am more than satisfied
with my purchase.
Cee Bailey's appears committed to providing a quality product
for motorcyclists and is constantly enlarging their offerings.
At the present time, they offer windshields for 12 brands
of motorcycles although the largest offerings are for BMW's.
They currently make shields for 16 models of BMW's and offer
a wide assortment of choices. For the R1100 and R1150RT's
there are four styles, various width and height options, and
five color choices. These allow for 105 possible combinations
without considering that many are also available with the
Euro-cut option. (Did I say that the owner rides an RT?) The
possibilities are not as great for the other 15 models, but
enough choices do exist so that you can get the exact windshield
you want. In addition, Cee Bailey's also offers a variety
of headlight guards for BMW's and even customized sun shields
for cars. They can be contacted at: www.ceebaileys.com or
at 1-800-788-0618. Check them out and see what you think.

Steve,
Just to let you know: the windscreen has finally arrived and it is just PERFECT!
The switch to the new windscreen took less than 10 minutes on my European 2003 BWM 1150 RT. The wholes were at the right distance and the screen itself is of exellent visual quality.
Now I just have a new bike! Before I had to wear earpflugs even with the long version of BMW's windscreen. Today, I listened to the radio while riding the highway at 75 miles an hour! I just hear the engine and the radio... This is how it should be!
Thanks for that one and the excellent service!
Best regards, Franz |

To Steve and the Cee Bailey's Team:
I received my Cee Bailey's BMW RT screen today and wanted
to take a moment to send a big "Thanks!" to everyone
involved. I had an opportunity to speak with Steve on the
phone before ordering, and he's a first class guy. It's nice
to see someone share their talents and abilities with others
unselfishly. I realize it was probably a headache to develop,
test, and produce a product that your company isn't in the
business of producing. I've taken on similar ventures, and
they always seem to be more trouble than they are worth. I'm
glad you guys took on this project, and I'm sure several hundred
other RT riders will agree with me.
Thanks again for a job well done. Keep up the good work!

It
is raining here but I couldn't wait to try it , just got back
from a quick 20 mile ride and the windshield is great. My BMW
tall, wide never gave me the protection and quite ride this one
did. I had it down about half way and could ride with my visor
fully open with little buffeting. Thanks again.

this windshield, thanks! I took my RT in for 600 mile service
today and the staff including the owner of Foothills BMW here

I don't know how much business you want but I bet you will be
hearing from the owner soon. Just FYI, they are the #2 dealer
in the USA and #1 in Colorado.
Have a
great weekend.

| To whom
it may concern,
Rarely
these days am I prompted to write letters like this one, however
I feel this time you should be made aware of the effort by
one of your associates in pleasing me. Ken has gone above
and beyond the call of duty in making me happy on my recent
BMW windshield purchase. As a BMW rider, I am used to good
service, and I am also able to recognize great service! Please
recognize him if front of his peers for his attitude (it was
and is contagious), his dedication to customer satisfaction
and his good natured banter. Good luck Ken... with your attitude
I don¹t see how you can fail!
I will
be showing off my new screen at ALL our gatherings here in

Got my
Cee Bailey windshield last week and have it installed. 1 word
describes it: Great! I'm tall with alot of torso height, ride
with the seat in the highest position for the leg room and with
the stock shield it was like hanging your helmeted head out
the car window. I installed the #2 6inch. The ride is now quite,
I can actually hear the engine, and no head buffeting. I previously
rode a Honda Valkryie and thought I had made a big mistake with
the rt. Now I understand why people speak so highly of the BMW.
I also have only praise for the quality of the Cee shield, thicker
than the stock and very nicely finished. If the stock fits you
- keep it. If you tower above it, take a look at the Cee Bailey.

I originally
went with the Parabellum +4" shield and I liked the effects
as compared to the stock windshield. But I still was not happy
with the buffeting and the noise I got no matter what position
the shield was in. I recently bought and insatlled the CeeBailey
Style #2 +4" and can't say enough about the improvements.
A lot less noise and no buffet at all. It is a great improvement
and I would gladly recommend this windshield to anyone. Thumbs
up to CeeBailey!!

| Just installed
my CB #2 clear today. The test run was great, I can hear that
boxer purring cus there isn't any wind noise. The one thing
I have to get used to is looking thru the shield instead of
over it, I think I can handle that for the added comfort. Good
fit and finish I'm one happy camper.

| #3,
clear and 4" taller. Works and looks fine, although I found
that the best position for wind buffeting and noise was 1/3
up from the lowest position, with my face shield open one notch
(Schuberth Concept Helmet). And, you don't need ear plugs either
... Go figure!? Any position higher offered no advantage, and
at any position lower there was progressively more noise. I
anticipate that rain protection will be good, but I'm not in
a hurry to test that theory.
The windshields
are well made, and take about 5 minutes to install ... an
all around pleasant experience.
Great
product, and great service. Thanks Steve, you're a credit
to this board and the brother (and sister) hood.

| Well...lunch
is over, and I'm still wiping the smile off my face from my
60 mile jaunt. The Cee Bailey's screen is wonderful. It's about
65 degrees outside, so it's on the cool side. In the full down
position, the screen positions the wind stream about mid helmet
(I'm 6'5", seat in the highest position). Raising it just
a tick, knocks nearly all the wind off my head at the expense
of some backpressure, but it's not annoying. If I put the screen
up like a barn door, I get a LOT of back pressure, but tucking
behind it alleviates that, and the air is so still you can actually
hear the engine running (even through ear plugs). Tucking behind
the CB screen isn't bad like the Secdem was. The CB screen is
actually CLEAR! You can see right through it with no distortion.
It's like being in a <GASP> CAR! Who wants that...so down
it went. I tried it at all speeds from 0 to 110 (indicated).
It was unflappable. The screen just sat there. At hypersonic
speeds, a touch of the button knocks that hard rushing air right
up over you. I could have ridden all day at 90+mph and never
gotten tired.
So far
so good. The quality is excellent. And I LOVE the "FAA
approved" line on the Cee Bailey's sticker.
Great
product. Thanks Steve!

My #3 light
grey tint +4 inch shield arrived and is perfect for me. At 5'11"
in the comfort seat I can see over the shield and get a windblast
in the low position and can raise it so I am completely covered.
Windblast is much less than original and fit and finish are
excellent.
Thanks, Steve.

Installed
my #2w/4.5" tonight and went out for a quick ride at 60
MPH. Wow! Awesome! I didn't need the windshield all the way
up to get rid of the wind noise. No more ear plugs and next
comes a Kenwood radio

| I installed
my #2 +4 1/2" Cee Bailey and did about 600 miles this weekend.
What a surprise! To start, I'm not sure but it seems like it's
taller than just 2" taller than my BMW tall. Did I mention
that this shield is tall? Well this is one tall windshield!
I raised my seat from the lowest to the middle position. Flatfooting
is a bit more of a challenge but not unacceptable. So now I'm
just barely looking over the windshield in its lowest position.
This is
one truly remarkable piece of workmanship! It is much clearer
than either of my BMW shields were. Looking through it isn't
a problem at all when raised. This shield is genuine quality
to the extreme! I cannot speak loudly enough.
I love the flip too. The shield reduces wind noise levels
quite a bit. My pillion was able to hear me at interstate
speeds where she couldn't before. I need to reposition her
speakers I think but the shield improved things immensely.
Nuttin' but smooth air! In light of this, there is some back
pressure. Enough so that my neck became a bit sore after 300
miles but not seriously and I think it something I will grow
used to.
Of all
the shields I've seen, I think this one best fits the exquisite
lines of the RT also. I definitely want to preserve the beauty
of this fine machine.
While
I probably cudda used a shield that was 1-2 inches shorter,
I'm going to get used to this one. A few more weeks and I'll
not know the difference. However, if you're considering a
new shield for your RT, you absolutely cannot do better than
the Cee Bailey! It is better than first class! It is one incredible
product that is extremely well made and does exactly what
it is supposed to do better than I could have hoped for. I
definitely recommend this product and am grateful to Airtire
for the opportunity to participate in this first round of
offerings.
I hope
this turns into a genuinely profitable enterprise for you
and your company, Steve. You certainly deserve it.
Yes indeed.
Yet another, way better mousetrap!

| Well -
I have the #1 shield. I received it a week or so ago and have
about 1500 miles on it now. It is tall. It is 2" wider
and 3" taller in DARK GRAY contrary to Steve's advise.
I'm 6'2" and ride with a Bill Mayers saddle so I sit a
little tall to begin with. What I have noticed is - a little
wind on the outer extremities of my elbows - nothing else. I
have zero buffeting on me - but the bike, as can be expected,
blows around a quite of bit in the wind. I tried the shield
in many different positions and it is remarkably good. My old
standard BMW shield used to act like a parasail in the wind
so I always rode with it totally in the down position. I think
(IMHO) that the width change made the greatest difference. I
can ride with it up or down, into the wind, wind at my back
or in a cross wind and I never get the effect of parasailing
like before. It is as if it is a different bike all together.
Steve tried to talk me into the lighter gray but I thought the
darker would look cool on my black RT. I was right - good looking
piece of hardware. I am tall enough that I look over it in any
position so the color wasn't important compared to COOL! I don't
put it up very far - maybe a couple of inches. When it is all
of the way up I can see over it but the dark gray is distracting.
I thought the dark gray would keep the reflections off my instrument
panel but I was wrong. In fact, the dark gray acts like a mirror.
I can read my tac and speedo in the reflection of the windshield.
Happy riding guys - I would definitely recommend a #1. See you
all in Gunnison!

| Gentlemen,
I don't usually do this, but I had to write you folks and tell
you how pleased I am with the new windshield I purchased from
you. Your product fit perfectly and is better finished than
the stock items available from BMW for my R1150RT. I selected
the stock shape, and even thought the shield is quite a bit
larger than the original, even the cogniciente at the local
dealership could not tell it was aftermarket until they could
compare it side to side with a bike with a stock shield. The
finish on the edges is mirror-like, and it seems to be much
clearer than the stock items. Super product ! Kenny J. Nashua,

In my driveway
today changing my gear and final drive oils to BMW synthetic.
I get a visitor, the Fed Ex guy. My long awaited Cee #2 + 4
1/2 " light grey tint shield arrives . As soon as I finished
the oil changes I removed my factory shield and installed the
Cee. Needed two larger washers for the middle hole attachment
and was on my way for a test ride.
It seemed like a different bike, quieter by far and smoother
somehow (The synth oil)?
With the stock shield I was always operating at full extension
and even then it was not enough coverage. With this shield I
operate from the lowest level up to midway or so.
At the lowest level I still see over the top and have very little
wind noise.
I am about 6" tall with 32 inseam , seat position in the
middle setting.
Fit and finish were excellent .

| Got mine
in yesterday with the headlight protector. WOW! Great quality.
Got the #3, +4, +1. With the shield all the way up, you have
to look through it and there is no distortion at all!
I'm still
experimenting with how high I like it. Mama definately notices
less wind buffeting in the back.
Thanks
Steve and all the guys at CeeBailey's for a great product
at a great price.

| Got my
number 2 today, promptly installed it and went for a ride. I
bought it after looking at Jake's and hearing how it reduced
his helmet noise. Well, it does, and it does so dramatically.
(I'm 6 foot, I wear a Symax helmet and molded ear plugs) It
was almost a little eery. At it's lowest position it is very
quiet, and even more so as it is raised. I also found that in
the middle to uppermost position, (looking straight through
it) I don't experience that annoying air current from the rear
that seems to push your head forward. There is a slight optical
distortion as you would expect with the "flip" contour,
but I don't find it bothersome and it seems to diminish as the
shield is raised. Overall, it seems to be very well made.
I think
I'm going to like it. |
|
| I received
my Cee Bailey #2 +4 1/2 shield on Friday. Mounting it took all
of 5 minutes and the holes all lined up perfectly :-). I rode
about 300 miles over the weekend and was very impressed.
With the
shield all the way down, I was able to get a breeze on my
helmet and it was a lot quiter than the stock shield at any
position. With the shield up about 3/4 of the way wind noise
was reduced so much that I could hear the engine at 75 mph
(first time I have heard this without tucking in behind the
windshield). With the shield all the way up it is in a bad
height for me as I am almost looking through it but not quite,
so it doesn't stay there for very long. I am 6'3" and
ride with the seat in the highest position.
Overall
I am very pleased with the shield. Looks great and the price
was right (I ordered before the price increase). It truly
has made riding the RT much more enjoyable.
I will
keep the stock windshield for the summer month up here in
Seattle.

| My Cee
Bailey's #3 arrived while I was on vacation a few weeks ago.
I finally tried it out over this past weekend. Here's my report:
Cee Bailey's
advertises their #3 as being four inches taller and two inches
wider than the stock BMW windshield. I asked them to cut mine
down by two inches and it measures (by my eye) 3 1/4"
taller than the stock windshield. I don't know if they measure
it differently or if they didn't cut the stock #3 by two full
inches. Nonetheless, the height was good for me.
The first
impression on inspecting the windshield is that it's a very
high quality piece of equipment. The optics were crystal clear,
the edges beautifully finished, and the mounting holes were
precisely where they should have been. If there were any issues
regarding the finish of the windshields initially, they have
been addressed at this point.
The #3
ordinarily has a significant flip at the top and sides. Because
mine was cut down, the flip was visible, but not pronounced.
Mounting is, of course, a snap--about a five minute job.
The second
main impression--upon mounting the RT--is that it feels more
like you're sitting on a Gold Wing than an RT due to the greater
expanse of plastic. I took it on a run at speeds up to 100
m.p.h. At sane speeds--say up to 60 - 70 m.ph.--the windshield
offered significantly more protection from buffeting. The
most significant difference, though, was the reduction in
wind noise. I could comfortably ride at up to 65 - 70 m.p.h.
without the wind roar that I experience with the stock windshield.
However,
I noticed a significant amount of backpressure at higher speeds.
I've never experienced this with my stock windshield (or at
least it's been so minimal that I haven't noticed). At speeds
of 80 m.p.h. and up, it felt as though someone was pushing
on the back of my helmet. After just ten miles or so this
got to be tiresome.
I think
the added backpressure occurs as a consequence of the added
width of the windshield. But, in fairness to Cee Bailey's,
it may be that my request to have them shorten the windshield,
thus reducing the flip at the upper edge, contributed to the
backpressure.
My conclusion is that the #3 minus 2 is a good solution for
those who are seeking added wind protection and who don't
ride at idiotic speeds. Since warm weather has finally arrived
in these parts, I've decided to go with the stock windshield
for now. Once it turns colder, I'll switch back to the Cee
Bailey's #3 for its added wind protection and quietness.
Overall,
an excellent product. I would, however, advise you to consider
the backpressure issue against your riding habits before going
with the exact configuation that I did.

This is
just a quick thank you for excellent service. I ordered your
#1 windshield 4" taller & 1" wider on 28 June
and it was at my door on 4 July,,,in Warwickshire, England!
I fitted it in a few minutes and went straight out. The screen
did all I hoped for and is great quality. Wind noise around
my helmet is much reduced. I hope I wait quite a while to test
the weather protection, but being in England, I am sure it won't
be too long.
Once again. thanks for great & efficient service and a quality
product.

| I just
installed the Cee Bailey's #4 Sport Fairing. I got this model
for summer driving since my previous fairing (Aeroflow) did
not give me much air no matter what position. Well the test
ride was on 90 degree day with 90% humidity and guess what the
fairing does move a lot more air on the the upper body when
down. It also does a decent job of moving air away when up.
My biggest surprize is how much quiter and smoother the air
is that is hitting me. The Aeroflow air was always turbulent
and even when blocking the air it was nosiey. I did not notice
it much since this was the only fairing I have used on my RT,
but now it seems down right loud. Bottom line so far I am very
impressed with how the sport fairing moves air. I have not gone
through a rain storm, or been riding in Sub 50 temps yet, so
time will tell how good it will be as an all around windshield.
--- But just in case, I got a package deal and I have a #2 still
in the box for when the weather gets a little cooler.

| I can honestly
say that your product (#2) is by far the best windshield I've
ever had on an RT. I've had the BMW standard and tall models
plus the product from Aeroflow. With my shield all the way down,
I can hear my stereo over the stock speakers at speeds up to
90 mph. By raising the shield just one inch, I can smoke a cigar
while riding at 70-80 mph. I'm still able to see over the top.
I could never do that with either the BMW or the Aeroflow windshields.
In the rain, your windshield throws the water over my helmet.
I'm impressed!

| I have
had a Cee Baileys #1 +6 +1 clear on my RT for a little while
now, but had a fair bit of noisy turbulence on the top of my
helmet at highway speeds. To get rid of the noise I found myself
hunching over regularly. The windshield itself was beautifully
clear and well finished.
I ordered
a Cee Baileys #2 +7 1/2 light gray a couple of weeks ago and
it arrived today. I rushed home from my 1000km service and
installed it and took her out for a ride.
WOW...what
a great windshield. The light grey has a subtle but very nice
effect. The height is perfect for me (6'4" with a long
torso). With the winshield half up I get very little wind
on the helmet and with it full up I get no wind at all on
my helmet. At full up I am looking through the windshield
or just over it (if I stretch up tall in the seat) and find
that the windshield doesn't introduce distortion.
I'm going
for a long drive with Jan (my wife) this weekend on back so
we'll have a chance to see what the ride is like for her.
I really
like this windshield a lot. Well done Steve and Cee Baileys,
a truly great add-on for the RT.

Steve,
I wanted to thank you again for getting into this business.
My #2 that you modified to accommodate my 5'9" frame has
just been a pleasure. Virtually no buffeting, great rain protection
and a stylish look to boot. I only need to raise it slightly
and wind noise must drop at least 20 decibels.
Great products seem to be far and few between.
Hope to see you at the next un......

cool. Have to save up to get a variety of different sizes and

I got my
#2 4.5 screen last Friday as I was working outside cleaning
my RT.
Just like a child unwrapping a new gift, I immediately put it
on.. it took about 5 minutes to remove the stock BMW and put
the CeeBaileys on. The fit was perfect. The look, AWESOME! I
went on a ride right away and I only needed to reach 20 M.P.H
to go "wow!", that is great! After trying different
positions, I figured out that 1/3 of the way up is all you need.
It is quiet! No turbulence! I can hear the engine like if I
was not moving at all!..
I am 6 feet tall and my seat is art the lowest..
It feels as if I am riding a new bike...
Finish is really #1. Craftsmanship is to say the least extremely
impressive and the fit is, well! "Like a glove!" And
the service was A1
You guys are definitely making a product that will put 1000's
of smiles on 1000's of faces!
From Canada I send you many thanks

I recently
acquired a Cee Bailey windshield for my R1100RT, and would like
to report on it to the list. It is the Model #2, which is 2"
wider than stock, and 2 1/2" taller, with a flip at the
top. I am 5'10. It replaces an Aeroflow. I am extremely pleased
with the Cee Bailey. It not only looks sharp, but performs as
promised. There is a still air pocket behind it, and a small
amount of air reaches the arms. When in the lowest position,
air is directed to the facial area, which will be the summer
setting for me. Fall setting is a bit higher.
It is actually thicker than the stock shield, and does not flutter
at
speed. Just my opinion, but I think it works better than the
Aeroflow, which is somewhat larger, and doesn't look as sharp.
Cee Bailey has other models, if you prefer a summer sport shield,
or a monster shield, etc. Can also be ordered in various custom
heights, depending on your requirements or preferences. I'm
not affiliated with Cee Bailey, but this is the windshield I
have been waiting for. Excellent product.

| Hello,
Purchased
your Euro Cut #2 plus 4 1/2 for my 03 R1150RT.
Just completed
my first "Iron butt" 1,000 miles in 24 hour run
this weekend. LA to Tucson and back. Your shield really made
a difference reducing fatigue.
Thank
you
Best Regards,
John F. |
|
I received
the new windshield Friday, installed it over the weekend and
put 200+ miles on it over the weekend. Riding solo I find the
Euro cut a dream come true. I can now keep the windshield height
adjustment in its lowest position and not suffer excessive wind
turbulence however I do notice a bit more wind on my shoulders
and arms.
The wife and I went for a long ride yesterday through varying
wind conditions and that's where the Euro comes up short. She
reported a lot of turbulence unless I had the windshield height
cranked all the way up.
I consider this a small price to pay for the advantage of being
able to look over the top of the 'shield without getting blasted
like I did with the stock BMW shield and my CB #2 +4 which I
will use when riding two up. For the record I am 6-1 with a
33" inseam and have an athletic build.
The Euro's a keeper!
Thanks,

Steve:
I have a funny, embarrassing and thank you story for you and
the strength of your windscreen that you sold me last year for
my BMW. I was up at the Americade Rally and stopped to fill
up with gas. I was a little far from the pump on my left side
but reached over, still sitting on the bike to fill-up. After
completing that task I leaned over myself with my right hand
to put the hose back and the bike leaned at an angle that I
couldn't hold it up anymore and it fell over onto the pump.
It fell against the windscreen which held up the bike, me and
all my gear. After I picked up the bike I examined it for damage
and scratches, NONE! Your windscreen not only held up the bike,
it didn't scratch and it prevented any damage to my bike. The
only damage was to my ego, which has healed!!..
So thanks for a great thick product, may I never have to test
its strength again.

I received
my Cee Bailey's BMW RT screen today and wanted to take a moment
to send a big "Thanks!" to everyone involved. I
had an opportunity to speak with Steve on the phone before
ordering, and he's a first class guy. It's nice to see someone
share their talents and abilities with others unselfishly.
I realize it was probably a headache to develop, test, and
produce a product that your company isn't in the business
of producing. I've taken on similar ventures, and they always
seem to be more trouble than they are worth. I'm glad you
guys took on this project, and I'm sure several hundred other
RT riders will agree with me.
Thanks
again for a job well done. Keep up the good work!

Got my
Cee Bailey windshield last week and have it installed. 1 word
describes it: Great!

Rick B.

| ... #3,
clear and 4" taller. Works and looks fine, although I found
that the best position for wind buffeting and noise was 1/3
up from the lowest position, with my face shield open one notch
(Schuberth Concept Helmet). And, you don't need ear plugs either
... Go figure!? Any position higher offered no advantage, and
at any position lower there was progressively more noise. I
anticipate that rain protection will be good, but I'm not in
a hurry to test that theory. The windshields are well made,
and take about 5 minutes to install ... an all around pleasant
experience.
Great
product, and great service. Thanks Steve, you're a credit
to this board and the brother(and sister)hood.

So far so good. The quality is excellent. And
I LOVE the "FAA approved" line on the Cee Bailey's
sticker.
Great
product. Thanks Steve!

My #3 light

Windblast is much less than original and fit and finish are
excellent.

I installed
my #2 +4 1/2" Ce
e Bailey and did about 600 miles this weekend. What a surprise!
To start, I'm not sure but it seems like it's taller than just
2" taller than my BMW tall. Did I mention that this shield
is tall? Well this is one tall windshield! I raised my seat
from the lowest to the middle position. Flatfooting is a bit
more of a challenge but not unacceptable. So now I'm just barely
looking over the windshield in its lowest position.
This is
one truly remarkable piece of workmanship! It is much clearer
than either of my BMW shields were. Looking through it isn't
a problem at all when raised. This shield is genuine quality
to the extreme! I cannot speak loudly enough.
I love
the flip too. The shield reduces wind noise levels quite a
bit. My pillion was able to hear me at interstate speeds where
she couldn't before. I need to reposition her speakers I think
but the shield improved things immensely. Nuttin' but smooth
air! In light of this, there is some back pressure. Enough
so that my neck became a bit sore after 300 miles but not
seriously and I think it something I will grow used to.
Of all the
shields I've seen, I think this one best fits the exquisite
lines of the RT also.

Anyone still thinking about upgrading to the Cee do it , It
makes for a much more pleasurable experience on a great bike.
