Hi Ken:
Weather finally got into the 40's today, so I switched windshields to the 2" shorter with the light tint, and took her for a spin. Here's a cut and paste of the review I posted on the Valkyrie Rider's Cruiser Club message board:
"I finally got a chance to test out the new shield I bought from Cee Baileys (The second one) This one is 2" shorter than stock, with a light tint. The fit was great, 12 screws, 4 bolts and less than a half an hour to switch. I now have one thats 4" shorter than stock in a dark tint (picture posted about a month ago) and this new one. The shorter one really gives you the "no windshield feel". Great for hot weather, and the dark tint looks awsome. The 2" shorter shield (pictured here) Gives better wind protection (it was lower 40's today) it's a little wider than stock, but you can still look over the windshield as you ride, which is the way I like it. The light tint is dark enough to look good, but you can still see easily through it while riding after dark. Two thumbs up to both windshields, can't beat the quality and fit, friendly folks to deal with. http://www.ceebaileys.com/honda/valkyrieinterstatews.html "
I did notice while installing this one, the bolt holes were spaced just a hair too close. I rounded one on the outer edge out with a rat tail file about an 1/8 inch, and the bolt lined up perfect. I like this taller one better, but I think because of the steep slope of the Valk shield, any shortening results in noticable increase in wind buffeting. I took 4" off the shield on my old bike (Shadow) and didn't notice any difference, but it must have been because that shield was almost straight up and down.
I think I will start saving and have you make me one that is 2" or 3" taller than stock with no tint to use on days like today when it's a bit chilly. I like both shields a lot, I will use the shorter one in the hot months.
Thanks again for the freebies, and I hope you get some responce from my fellow Valk riders. You will be hearing from me soon for my taller than stock shield!
Thank You!
Lee Lawrence
